On Friday 11 April, we were at it again! The second edition of WRITE took place in the inspiring surroundings of the Verkadefabriek in Den Bosch. This annual event, organised by Foxiz and Verebus, once again brought together (aspiring) technical authors from various sectors to share knowledge, gain inspiration and offer insights into the latest developments within the field of technical documentation.
Technical documentation and AI: a peek at what’s to come
We live in a rapidly changing world, as we can all see, feel and experience in our daily lives. For some time now, AI has been the hot topic that everybody discusses. Obviously, we have been investigating the possibilities in our line of work as well, which we have been doing for some time now.
In translations, for example, we see that AI is already commonly used – just think of translation machines like Google Translate. But ChatGPT, CoPilot and Gemini have also become part of our lives. There are opportunities in the development of manuals, we see it being applied in technical illustrations more and more, and even for the creation of formulas in Excel, it is increasingly being used. In short, there are countless opportunities!
To engage a broad audience in an entertaining but also informative way, we had created a balanced range of sessions.
Innovative and interactive sessions
In the afternoon, participants engaged in four interactive sessions, each focusing on a different aspect of AI, technology and documentation:
- ChatGPT as an Excel assistant?
- The magic of AI-generated images
- AI and translation: human translators will always need to be involved
- Conveniently editing illustrations with AI
Each session provided room for questions, discussions and the sharing of practical experiences, which provided valuable insights and new ideas. It was interesting to see the diversity in experience and knowledge. While some did not yet know what a prompt is, there were also early adopters who are already very far along in experimenting themselves or even applying it on a daily basis. And not just for technical documentation.
Informal conclusion to an inspiring day: Write 2025
The day ended informally with an enjoyable networking session. While enjoying snacks and drinks, the attendees could continue their discussions with colleagues and speakers, as well as with the various specialists from Foxiz and Verebus. The atmosphere was energetic and collegial – and one thing was clear: WRITE 2025 was yet another success and it definitely inspires us to organize a future edition! We are already looking forward to next year.
